Physical Therapy

Supporting Movement from the Very Beginning

Movement is the foundation for how babies explore, connect, and grow. Our pediatric physical therapy services focus on supporting early motor development during infancy and early childhood—when small interventions can make a big difference.

At The Abeille Feeding Clinic, our Pediatric Physical Therapists take a gentle, whole-body approach to help babies build strength, coordination, and confidence in movement while supporting healthy headshape, feeding skills, and overall development.

Early Motor Milestones Matter

Early motor milestones aren’t just about “when” a baby rolls, sits, or crawls—they influence headshape, feeding, breathing, posture, and future movement patterns.

We support babies who may be experiencing:
  • Torticollis or head-turning preferences
  • Flat spots or headshape asymmetry
  • Delayed or asymmetrical motor milestones
  • Limited tummy time tolerance
  • Muscle tightness or movement restrictions
  • Concerns about rolling, sitting, crawling, or early mobility

Our therapists focus on early identification and intervention, helping babies move more freely and efficiently before compensations develop.

Integrated Bodywork for Whole-Body Support

What makes our pediatric PT unique is the integration of gentle bodywork techniques within therapy sessions.

Our therapists are trained to incorporate:
  • Soft tissue release
  • Fascial and myofascial techniques
  • Craniosacral and calming regulatory input

This whole-body approach allows us to address underlying tension and restrictions that may impact movement, headshape, feeding, and overall comfort—especially in infants who have experienced birth tension, positioning challenges, or prolonged time in containers.

Headshape Support with Soft Spot Technology

We are proud to offer Soft Spot® technology as part of our early headshape intervention approach.

Soft Spot is a non-invasive scanning and measurement system that allows us to:
  • Objectively assess headshape and asymmetry
  • Track changes over time
  • Identify concerns early—often before helmet therapy is recommended

When paired with skilled pediatric physical therapy, positioning strategies, and bodywork, Soft Spot allows us to support headshape development during the window when the skull is most responsive to change.

Our goal is to provide early, proactive care that may help families avoid or reduce the need for helmet therapy whenever possible.
