Bodywork

Bodywork Services at The Abeille Feeding Clinic

At The Abeille Feeding Clinic, we believe the body works as an integrated system. Tension, restriction, and asymmetry anywhere in the body can impact how a baby feeds, moves, breathes, and rests. Our bodywork services are designed to gently support you and your baby’s nervous system, mobility, and overall comfort—whether used on its own or as part of therapy.

We offer stand-alone bodywork sessions with a Licensed Massage Therapist, as well as bodywork-informed care integrated into sessions with our Occupational Therapists (OTs), Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), and Physical Therapists (PTs).

Bodywork Integrated Into Therapy

A Whole-Body Approach Across OT, SLP, and PT Care

Our OTs, SLPs, and PTs are trained to incorporate bodywork into sessions when appropriate. This allows bodywork to directly support therapy goals related to:

  • Feeding and oral function

  • Posture and movement

  • Sensory processing and regulation

This whole-body approach helps therapy feel more effective and comfortable for your child.

Why Bodywork?

Feeding, movement, and regulation are influenced by how the body feels and functions. By addressing the body as a whole, bodywork helps create a strong foundation for skill development and ease in everyday activities.

FAQ

Is bodywork safe for infants?
Yes. Our bodywork is gentle, developmentally appropriate, and always responsive to your baby’s cues.

How is this different from chiropractic care?
Our bodywork focuses on soft tissue, fascia, and nervous system regulation. It does not involve joint manipulation or forceful adjustments.

Does my child need therapy to receive bodywork?
No. We offer stand-alone bodywork sessions with our Licensed Massage Therapist, as well as bodywork integrated into therapy when indicated.

How do I know which option is right for my child?
If you’re unsure, our team can help guide you toward the best fit based on your concerns and goals.

Can bodywork help with feeding difficulties?
Bodywork can support feeding by addressing tension, posture, breathing, and regulation, and is often most effective when combined with skilled feeding therapy.
